AmTryke Recipient: Ciera Perez

amtryke recipients people weve helped

One of the really fun things about our regular Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS Monday Luncheons at the Mckenzie/Merkett Alumni Center on the Tech campus is having AmTryke recipients and their families and therapists join us for the presentation of their new AmTrykes. Recently, we were joined by Ciera Perez, who is a 14-year-old freshman at Monterey High School.

Ciera was accompanied by her mom, Lisa, and her grandparents, Fred & Pala Perez. She has one sister, Calleigh, who is 7 years old, and Ciera’s mom says that they are looking forward to riding together now that Ciera has her new Amtryke.

Ciera has cerebral palsey, and has been working with Mike Fisher, a therapist with LISD, since she was 3.  She has ridden an AmTryke at school like her new one, and had a smaller one previously that she has now outgrown, so is excited to have the new one.

It is such a joy to see the smiles on these recipient’s faces when we can present them with a new AmTryke, and if you’d like to experience that same joy, then JOIN US for lunch some Monday and consider membership in our club.
